Graffiti, while illegal can be a powerful tool in making a huge visual impact and sending us messages concerning politics, emotions, or whatever else is on the creators mind. The best Graffiti causes us to wonder technically “how did they do that?” and speculate what the piece is about and why it was done.
Comics have been used to tell stories about the human condition and psyche and appeal to everyone. Through their pages we are transported to other worlds where we can be anyone we want to be therefore learning a little about who we are and the world around us through analogy.
Alternative, urban and Harajuku fashion can particularly help send messages about beliefs, interests and status.

”Through art we put our soul on paper/concrete or fabric and share it with the world, this is a very nerve wracking thing to do. It takes more guts than carrying a knife.” (Danielle Scott 2008)
