The Embassador of Czech Vinyl Culture
Fact: The Czech Republic is very passionate about soccer (or as they call it, football). Fact 2: 99.99% of the Czech Republic has never heard or seen a vinyl toy before. Fortunately, one of the few artists they have over there makes up for the shortage in numbers. Alexander Gürlich is based out of Prague, which is actually one of the most stunning cities in Europe. Prague was actually considered to be the capital of the Roman Empire, so it’s really quite the epic destination. Alexander Gürlich adds to the art renaissance with his custom toys, but he does so in a way that redefines the paradigm of the European art scene.
Gürlich is an amazing sculptor, and he uses this skill to create toy designs that maintain soft flowing lines. His designs tend to maintain the smooth curvature of the original platform, while still adding his own personalities to the character. Gürlich really shows off his versatility with his designs in that he doesn’t really stick with a particular palette or theme. That’s some empowering stuff.
