Two weeks later, he received his Qee cat and bear. The cat was suited in a traditional chinese wedding dress with moderately seductive slits on the sides and eyes that melted vinyl. The bear came fitted in a custom tailored tuxedo and the look of an animal that thinks he knows what he’s getting in to. He came, he saw, he conquered.

On Friday night at D-Structure, no force could contend with Seth Robles’ Yo*Duh MadL.

The scoring for the event was done with five judges. Each Judge ranked their top five pieces that they felt exhibited the best combination of concept, execution, color feel, and overall WOW factor.

During the judges meeting, each piece that was deemed a top 5 piece received one Honor Point for being on the list. The pieces would also receive tallies based on their rank on each judges list (Higher rank, fewer tallies…fewer tallies is better….like golf). The winner would be determined first by how many Honor Points are aquired, and in the event of a tie in Honor Points, the piece that had the fewest tallies would be placed higher.

Seth Robles Yo*Duh submission received an Honor Point from 4 out of the 5 judges in the event. The unquestionable winner. Some speculated that the Yo*Duh piece was simply riding the awesomeness of the most undeniably epic character in the sci-fi universe. However,Judges were thoroughly inpressed by the precision sculpting that built the foundation of the evening’s most talked about piece. Seth Robles will receive a $300 cash prize for his outstanding efforts.

The second place piece, “The Real Boy” by auryL aslo featured a sliew of well sculpted features. What really made this piece stand out was the bold palette and the butt crack. With a nice ensemble of accessories, this piece was difficult to resist.

Third place went to Dustin Cantrell’s T.W.E.R.P.. This piece used a BleepLabs Thingamakit sleekly integrated into the MadL’s head. T.W.E.R.P. also features a glow in the dark paint graphic. With two LEDacles attached, this is the kind of toy you want during a power outage.

In any case, picking the winners was no easy task. The level of quality turned out in this show was truely astounding. The party was rolling strong well into 11pm when a fight broke out. Yes. A fight at a vinyl toy show. Is this history in the making?

In any case, the perpitrators were quickly launched out the front door. The event went so well that the gallery has decided to prolong the exhibition to allow more people to see the entries. Go check ‘em out if you get the chance!!!

Who care’s about who wins the presidential race.  What’s really important is who wins this week’s MeMadL contest at D-Structure.  Most of the pieces have been received, and the level of customization is absolutely astounding.

These toys are slated for release early next year along with another 400% 2-Pack on the way.

The toys stand at one foot in height and come with gold and silver chrome.  They can be found “around the world, around the world” in fine boutiques…and perhaps even at the Delicious Drips Store.

This Hallween, we’d like to encourage people to explore costume making in a new way.  Do something that nobody else is doing.  Don’t be afraid that people might not “get” your costume.  The idea is to fulfill that fantasy of your to be whatever it is you want to be.

If the DIY costume is not for you, then check these whacky Japanese costumes from Cracked Magazine.  If those monkey balls aren’t funny, I don’t know what is!

Also, keep in mind that Oktoberfest is also a great deal of fun no matter where you’re at.  Beer can make wearing that heinous costume a little more bearable.
