DesignerCon Blows the Doors OFF

Last year, Vinyl Toy Network (VTN) was a two day event, and even by the end of the first day, it seemed that everyone had got their fix.  With the event not really progressing, several inventive minds including Ayleen Gaspar of Toy Break stepped in to take a shot at taking this event to the next level.

This year, they changed the name of the event to Designercon in order to attract a broader audience of independent shops and companies.  The move brought about more than double the amount of vendors, AND an immeasurable increase in traffic.  This new convolution of designers and artists created a dynamic that kept things at a nice level euphoria ALL DAY LONG.  They actually had to pry the doors open and extra 15 minutes just to get the stragglers out of there.

We’d like to thank everyone including ASS from Cute and Nast (pictured above) for coming by our booth and taking aim and the Blind Box Blaster challenge. A lot of people blasted their way to some free toys, clothing, and some elite shooters earned Skullcandy Headphones.

One lucky winner in the Apex Trading x DD Mini Bomb Tease scavenger hunt deactivated two bombs and earned his way to two Bossy Bear’s.

So what happens now?  Well many of us go home, eat turkey, pass out, and wake up and then its Christmas!  Some of us creative types try to squeeze in our remaining designs for our 2009 portfolio.  One thing is for sure; many of us will be looking forward to an even better DesignerCon in 2010.
